The Verification on Effects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program for Early Adolescent Sexual Assault Offenders

|
This research was conducted to verify the effect of a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program on cognitive distortion, victim empathy, self-esteem and personal relationships of early adolescent sexual assault offenders. 15 CBT sessions were conducted with 22 early adolescents; an inspection was performed before and after the program to evaluate its effectiveness. Measures of the rape-notion index, victim-empathy index, self-esteem index and personal relationship support index were involved. As a result of the research, early adolescent sexual assault offenders who had been given the CBT program showed meaningful positive change regarding cognitive distortion, victim empathy, self-esteem, and personal relationship after the program.
